What is the SpotBot 4G Plus?

The SpotBot 4G Plus is SpotSee’s connected condition monitoring recorder, designed to deliver complete real-time visibility into shipment health across the global supply chain. It simultaneously tracks tri-axial impact (3.5G to 100G), temperature, humidity, and precise GPS location, transmitting all data continuously to the SpotSee Cloud via 4G LTE-M cellular or known WiFi networks. Custom alarm thresholds trigger immediate notifications when any condition is exceeded, giving teams the ability to respond before damage compounds. REACH and RoHS compliant, the SpotBot 4G Plus is trusted in life sciences, automotive, aerospace, electronics, pharmaceutical, and power generation logistics.

What conditions does the SpotBot 4G Plus monitor?

It simultaneously monitors tri-axial impact (3.5G–100G), temperature (-20°C to 60°C ±0.5°C accuracy), humidity (10–90% RH ±2% RH accuracy), and GPS location. All four data streams are timestamped and transmitted to the SpotSee Cloud at user-configured intervals.

How does location tracking work?

The SpotBot 4G Plus uses three complementary technologies for the most accurate position available at any point in transit: GPS satellite, proximity to known WiFi signals, and cellular tower triangulation. Geofencing is also supported — users receive an automatic alert when the asset reaches or departs a predefined location.

How does it communicate data?

Data is transmitted via the 4G LTE-M cellular network, which offers better power efficiency and signal range than standard 4G LTE — ideal for assets moving across borders and regions. The device can also be configured to communicate via recognized WiFi networks when available.

What is the battery life?

Battery life depends on the reporting interval selected:

  • 1-hour reporting: ~1 year
  • 2-hour reporting: ~2 years
  • 4-hour reporting: ~2.5 years
  • 8-hour reporting: ~5 years
  • 12-hour reporting: ~6 years
  • 24-hour reporting: ~7 years

The lithium battery pack is built in and optimized for long-haul supply chain deployments.

How are alarms and alerts configured?

Alarms are configured through the SpotSee Cloud web application before deployment. Users set custom thresholds for impact G-level, temperature high/low, and humidity high/low. When any threshold is breached, the device sends an immediate notification including the time, location, G-level, and direction of impact.

How is the device set up and how is data accessed?

Setup is done entirely through SpotSee’s intuitive web application — no specialized software or hardware is required. Trip data is stored securely in the SpotSee Cloud and accessible from any browser, providing visualizations including impact-over-time graphs, histograms by G-level, and temperature/humidity trend charts.

What are the physical specifications?

  • Dimensions: 131mm x 39mm x 46mm (4in x 1.5in x 1.8in)
  • Weight: 189g (6.7oz)
  • Mounting: Screw mount, adhesive, or optional magnetic feet
  • Communication: 4G LTE-M, WiFi
  • Location: GPS, nearest cell tower, nearest WiFi
  • Compliance: REACH, RoHS
What industries rely on the SpotBot 4G Plus?

The SpotBot 4G Plus is used in pharmaceutical and biotech cold-chain logistics, medical device shipping, automotive parts transit, aerospace component transport, electronics and semiconductor shipping, power generation equipment, oil and gas supply chains, construction equipment, and high-value freight forwarding.

How does the SpotSee Cloud display trip data?

The SpotSee Cloud provides real-time dashboards with: shipment location on a live map, impact alarm details (location, time, G-level, direction), impact-over-time visualization, G-level histograms for quick outlier identification, and temperature and humidity trend charts. Data can be downloaded for reporting and compliance documentation.

How does the SpotBot 4G Plus differ from the SpotBot GL?

The SpotBot GL is the newer generation model with updated hardware. The SpotBot 4G Plus uses the 4G LTE-M network while the GL uses 4G LTE with WiFi. Both monitor the same four parameters (impact, temperature, humidity, location) and connect to the SpotSee Cloud, but the GL offers updated battery configurations. What is included with the SpotBot 4G Plus purchase?

The unit includes the SpotBot 4G Plus device with built-in lithium battery pack, mounting hardware, and 12 months of SpotSee Cloud service. The web application for configuration and data access is included with the service subscription. Additional service periods are available for longer deployments.
