This new UK-made electrical safety innovation helps protect lives, homes, and businesses against electrical connection fires.

The push-on clips highlight heated connections at their early stage of development before they reach temperatures capable of damaging PVC insulation and long before they can cause a fire.

Using a newly developed masterbatch from LCR Hallcrest, the injection molded clips change color permanently from purple to pink if they heat up more than a safe temperature.

Heated electrical connections can easily lead to fire and are one of the main causes of electrical fires in homes and businesses. This is especially prevalent in consumer units / distribution boards and intake electrical equipment.

Permanent color change and 24/7 monitoring of electrical connections provide a new safety feature for periodic electrical inspections.

The permanent color change enables identification of heated connections that may not be seen during normal inspections of electrical installations, due to the possibility that any affected connections may be cooled as a result of being off-load at the time of an inspection.
